Is an ECG reading QTc of 469ms prolonged or not??

Hi in 2006 I had an ECG done that I have recently found. It shows the QTc interval is 469ms but was reported as "normal". I was under the impression that anything above 440-460ms is prolonged or is it not that simple? Reason I ask is I am looking into making a claim that the ECG should have been interpreted as "warranting further investigation".

Last year I was diagnosed with LQTS following an excercise test but have no symptoms black out etc, suspect an over-zelous Cardiologist. Genetic testing didnt show anything but they might want to test more family members.

Thanks very much

I would suggest a new ECG. 2006 was a long time ago and ECGs are simple, fast and relatively inexpensive if you have to pay out of pocket. Physicians only consider ECG results valid for 3 years with "normal" results. I doubt that trying to file any sort of claim on a 14 year old test result is going to get you very far, as the statute of limitations regarding medical claims typically varies from 1 to 10 years.

If you feel like your current diagnosis is wrong, get another opinion.
