Hello, I am new at this, although I've been anxious my whole life it seems, as I've gotten older, it's getting worse. At my darkest time, last month, I sat on my couch and stared out of the window, longing to go outside but somehow physically unable to... I felt like I was trapped... That was the first time it's lasted that long. I can feel it taking a toll on me, health wise, and I really don't know how bad it may get. I don't know much about medication and I'm not a fan of having to take something every day for the rest of my life so, I'm hoping perhaps there's a pill I can take when I feel an episode coming on instead of daily...

Hi Kewi :) At your young age, they use to call this a "midlife crisis" but in today's

state of affairs, it can happen to anyone. There are times when the world seems to

have slowed down in our minds and we just stop and stare, almost in a frozen state.

Unfortunately, there is no "magic pill" that can take that feeling away, at least with

a lasting result. The magic needs to come from within you.

The time comes for all of us to take inventory of our lives. Where we have been and

where we are going. When we have a goal, a reason to continue forward, this stuck

unmotivated feeling will go away w/o medication.

After all, meds are just a Band-Aid for a short term "ouchie". Therapy as well as

finding other methods to relieve our stress or motivate us is the better, safer and

lasting way to achieve inner peace.

I'm happy to Welcome you here where each one of us has been where you are. We

share our journey and through that you may find something that works for you during

this stumbling block in the road that you have found.

Continue coming on this site and reaching out. Responding to other's needs can be just

as beneficial to your own welfare. One day at a time. Do not fear the future. Together

we will get through this step by step. :) xx

Agora is right! But what also helped me was getting Xanax. I pushed back on it for so long but eventually I realized it does make a difference. It calms me down and gets me to a place where I can get it together a bit better. And interestingly enough, even just having it helps. Knowing that I have a pill in my purse can save me from a panic attack often stops the panic attack and I don’t need the pill. My therapist said that’s actually pretty common.

It’s definitely a bandaid and shouldn’t be used multiple times a day, but it has made a big difference in my day to day life

Hi

It’s good to reach out in here, we are all here to advise. Before you even think about any type of medication? Think about exercises breathing meditation apps things like that. Have you spoken to your doctor? This was my doctors advice to me and it’s very helpful. Once your on medication it’s hard to come off for some people and you don’t want that.

Have a think about it.

Stay strong
