Ugh I know they say that anxiety can cause chest pains, but does anyone feel like their chest pains happen before the anxiety shows? I feel like I get chest pains then start to panic over them. But every single time I go in for it they say my heart is just fine. Sometimes I wonder if they are missing something. Also to add I typically only get these chest pains at night but I swear they hurt I bad!
Chest pains : Ugh I know they say that... - Anxiety Support
Chest pains
KNW11, chest pains do not always come from a heart issue. (as you can see having
gotten clearance from your doctor)
Rather it's more a muscular issue, coming from the Chest Wall.
Our posture can play into the pain we experience at the end of the day.
After holding ourselves in the state of fear for 8 hours due to stress or anxiety,
when we do get to the end of the day, our muscles rebel by causing pain as we
are trying to relax or get tired. Try not to get yourself on a roller coaster of
"what if's", it only makes matters worse.
Use the evening before bed in allowing your body and mind to unwind. xx
Yes, this is exactly what happens to me. I get the pain or the weird heart palpitation feeling and then the anxiety follows and I feel a whole lot worse!
I have been experiencing this off and on since 2014. I have had multiple tests over the years and everytime I get the all clear apart from them identifying the palpitations which I am told not to worry about.
It is frustrating because I am not anxious until I get the pain. If it was the other way around them maybe I would understand it better.
I have also been told that a heart palpitation gets us when we are at our most comfortable, like watching TV, relaxing at the end of the day, getting ready to fall asleep, a sort of delayed reaction from an earlier stress point, which is why it is hard to understand as it seems to come out of the blue. I'm not explaining that terribly well, my doctor was quite clear and reassuring on this point. I hope that makes sense.
The yesterday and today I am having terrible palpitations with pain. I have an apple watch so can see my heart rate go up and down like a ping pong ball. I wish it would stop.
I have been eating rather poorly lately in lockdown - high salt snacks, high fat treats so I am putting it down to these bad habits, then add the stress of lockdown. Cleaning up my act and see if this helps but they are driving me mad so I hear you!
