How can I slowly come off venlafaxine on my own?

I want to get off venlafaxine. Taking 450 mg a day. I get tired and out of breath so easy. I sweat profusely and I don’t want that anymore. I think I’d feel better off. I know must be done slowly. I just don’t know how to accomplish this don’t want the dr. Involved. He’d make me feel like I shouldn’t do that so I’d continue. I just want to get off it. Tired of not able to do any thing.

Treat the pill like a big bar of chocolate with lots of squares . Every few day’s or a week, just cut down one square at a time each few days or a week , eventually you’ll been down to almost nothing, and the withdraws will be pretty much non existent . I have been on venlafaxine before , I tapered over a very short amount of time, and honestly , I didn’t feel too bad. Not saying everyone will be the same .

Hi lovemy2doggies

I too am weaning off them I’ve been on them 20+ years I was on 300mg me too with the sweats and tired I also had rapid heart rate of 104bpm???

Since reducing its gone to normal 74/79bpm.. what I did is I had one 150mg in morning and another 150mg in the evening so I would still have my morning but have half in the evening...I did that 2 weeks then went 150mg morning and half evening one day the next day I would have 150mg in the morning and then halve the half and so on and so on but I have my drs advice I wouldn’t recommend trying without your dr even if he says he don’t recommend just ask him to least let you try...I’m on my sixth week and since Saturday morning I’ve gone half morning half evening and I’m starting to get some annoying withdrawals I’m not bothered if this takes me over a year I will persevere and push through it but it does come with some battles weaning off them but everyone is different but please just take slow easy baby steps if you do you will have more chance of reaching your goal.

Here if you need to ask any other questions about it
