Well I’ve been really good for the last year not had as many problems with my anxiety but went to my dr about a month ago (a new dr) and I had a medication review she said she wants me off my venlafaxine I’ve been on these for 22 years and she wants to put me on citalopram I asked why she said she don’t like venlafaxine they not good!!!! So I was like my body seems to like them so I’ve managed to wean myself off them and start the citalopram but I’m getting some horrendous side effects I don’t know wether it’s because I’m off venlafaxine or because I’m on citalopram..my health anxiety is really bad at the minute like I think every pain is something terminal I can’t watch medical programs now as they make me feel physically sick I’m having a attack right now I’m shaky feel sick constant toilet runs I’m just so scared at the minute xx do I just take my venlafaxine even though I e not had one in two days or do I persevere and try these citalopram I hate feeling like this
Any help would be grateful

Call your doctor and let her know what's going on. If you haven't been the same right now, there's a problem. Maybe a second opinion. Shouldn't be up to the doctor to say they don't like a certain medicine, that that should be the way to go. If first one working good, why change it?
exactly my thoughts even the hospital when I ended up in there a few days ago said why the hell has she took you off one effexor and put you on another Effexor and if all is well why does she feel the need to take you off it so it’s all confusing as to why I’m full of flu aswell my bones hurt and everything it has to be because of the swap over
I’ve just tried to get in the drs and obviously no joy again so will have to try tomorrow so fingers crossed I can get in to discuss this but it’s true it’s very very strange isn’t it
Omg, why did she change your medication if you were doing ok. Local GPs annoy me so much they not nothing about mental health. Just because 'she' didn't like venlafaxine she decides to take you off them after probably knowing you for five minutes now your paying the consequences. I'd go back to a doctor you know and be asked to be put back on them.
You might find watching the youtube videos of Paige Pradko helpful for understand and dealing with health anxiety. She is a therapist who had it and also OCD and healed herself and now helps others with it. She has good, practical advice and presents it clearly. She also has some online programs available.
