I have a fear of developing mental disorders, I can barely even look at a movie with somebody with a mental disorder or read about it without thinking that I have it or thinking about how I could just develop it out of nowhere.

Fear
My biggest fear is also of having a mental disorder or that the pills I drink for anxiety and depression one day will make me forget things or something else or one day waking up and not know what I am doing or just loose my mind
I have had this fear for so many years, from the time my anxiety started and till now i have the fear that eventually i will go crazy or mad or a disorder when I'll age and my children will leave me, what people are going to think about me etx etc,
This is caused by fear of the unknown .
Best exercise is to gradually watch a movie that you think its causing fear . Even if you watch that movie in 1 year long . Even if you skip the parts that you think are bad for you .
In time , after 3-4 movies like that you beat the fear . And it will seem a joke comedy for you
@oliviaaa1 this is a common anxiety symptom called intrusive thoughts. People who have mental disorders don't think about it.
Because it's an anxiety symptom a good way to stop it is by burning off excessive adrenaline. When you start with these thoughts do anything physical that you can. If I'm at home I will go on my static bike or at work I will go to the toilet and jump up and down (and pray they don't have secret cameras lol). This burns off excess adrenaline and distracts you. Also say to yourself that it's nothing more than intrusive thoughts caused by anxiety. If you do this it will get better
