It's probably anxiety keeping it high. A long term heart rate even of 115 isn't dangerous as it would need to a lot higher to cause any harm.

My advice is stop continually checking it as it is only causing your anxiety to rise and making it worse.

Keep the appointment. I’m sure it will serve to put you at ease.

I started lexapro and Clonidine and that keeps my heart rate at check. It no longer starts to race when I lie down. I’ve made slow but steady progress over the past few weeks.

Let us know how it goes.

Those heart rates aren’t life threatening. 80 is pretty good. But a low dose beta blocker would help you with heart rate and anxiety. If you can get some. Pretty harmless medicine.

Yes the 80 is so so for me , I am more concerned with the 100!s ... I don’t like when I spike so high with the 100 range. Like just laying down and it does up to 155!! What in the world is that about ... and just the constant state of it being in the 90’s and 100 through the day :( I am on a beta blocker once a day ...

However, you can take the beta blocker twice. Which one are you on?

Hi Kate, I too am on 25mg Metoprolol. My problem with the fast heart rate

was in the mornings. My cardiologist moved my medication to before bed.

Problem solved. I have on occasion been told by the doctor to take an extra

one but only under doctor supervision, since the b/p and pulse can go very low.

I use Meditation and Deep Breathing which has helped immensely along with

the Metoprolol in keeping the numbers more stable. Good Luck Kate :) xx
