heart rate

for the last few weeks my resting heart rate has increased from 50-65 to 60-77 when sitting. Had an ecg done on the 19th which was fine, I still get chest pain on and off, I have been very active for the last month. But the last few days I notice my heart rate will be 60-63 then in a minute drop to 47, is that normal?

Hi. I don't know if that is normal, but the ECG showed that your heartbeat was ok. If you have not been that active prior to the last mth, maybe your body is just getting used to the activity you had done. I don't know that medically though, it is just a thought. But tbh, if I had kept getting chest pain and my heartbeat continued to fluctuate, I would see a Dr. Do you have health anxiety?

pain comes and goes very minus, just near enough constant palpitations and sweaty hands

Sweaty hands are a reaction to stress. If you are anxious about your heart rate, that could be causing your hands to sweat. I would still see your Dr if the pain doesn't go away.

yes seeing a doc tomorrow morning, the sweaty hands tend to go away once I’ve had a bath and got into bed weird

You may be more relaxed after getting ready for bed, then no sweaty hands if it's caused by anxiety.

I just wake up to terrible palpitation and sweaty legs instead 🤣

I saw that you have an overactive thyroid. That could be a cause of it, too. I have an under active thyroid and I sweat more. I don't know how it works w/ being overactive, but it might be a a reason for the palpitations.

well I haven’t been diagnosed yet it’s been borderline for 4 years and they won’t treat it!

Maybe try to see a Dr to find out if it could be your thyroid. In 4 yrs, a lot can change.

I have sorry meant to say been resting every 3 months and it always comes back borderline

Then I would ask your Dr to do a test specifically for your heart to see if the palpitations are a symptom of something going on. I know you said you had a test, but maybe look further into that. It could just be anxiety, but I would have it checked out more.

How long did it stay at 47? Does it continue to do that? Sounds like you may need a nuclear stress test.. A simple Ekg shows your heart is normal at that moment..doesn’t give any information on how it’s reacting to exertion ..certainly speak with your Dr. again about your concerns!!

Mine does that for a split second on my Apple Watch, don’t know how accurate that is!??

not sure, ecg was done on the 19th and it was fine keep getting palpitations at night, and sitting is 70-77 Instead of 55-68, really sweaty hands too
