Ive had health anxiety for about 3 years (obviously didnt realise that until more recently). This ties in to not long after my mum was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
my anxiety now is my son. He has a enlarged lymph node behind his ear and has done since he was approx 6 weeks old (he is 13 months now) the gp was not worried but sent us for blood which showed high platelets (647) the dr asked to repeat them which we did last week, it was so stressful, they had to finger prick my son in the end and he was crying the whole time.
The receptionist rang and said his platelets were still high (587) and his white blood cells (16.4) and his monocytes (1.14) where now high too. He did have a cough/cold but not sure if this could raise them this much.
The gp is ringing me today and even though i know they are probably going to ask for another repeat i am so anxious.
Sorry for the long post just need to get off my chest
