I’m in tapering Zoloft hell!

Anyone else go through this? Hearing others’ experiences always helps. I was on 250 & 60 Cymbalta. My new dr. is tapering me off. I’m feeling sooo awful! Is it psychological?

It's withdrawal. I had three years of withdrawal from Seroxat (Paroxetine or Paxil) and know what you're going through. I had all the symptoms of anxiety depression plus brain zaps and other hellish side-effects, and had to take three years off work to escape that drug. I even went on liquid suspension Seroxat, which I used a syringe to measure, reducing a minute daily amount every six or eight weeks. I went through hell, and was helped somewhat by a book I read by a chap called Bob Fiddaman who had suffered the same thing. The book was called Seroxat Scandal: The Evidence, However, Is Clear.

We call it withdrawal but in an effort to try to reduce their perceived culpability the drug makers call it- in their legalese doublespeak - 'discontinuation syndrome'. It areis withdrawal, and when I went on that drug in the 1990s they never ever warned you about it. It was an absolute nightmare.

I've been a year getting off Paxil. And you're right, it's a hellish nightmare. I'm down to 5 mg a day. What was the lowest amount you were on when you were able to stop completely?

Thank you so much. I’m sorry you had to go through that. I hope this doesn’t last 3 years. The pharmaceutical companies have nooses around our necks.

I recently went off 250 Zoloft -25mg every 10 days. I stayed on 60 Cymbalta.

Are you going off Cymbalta at the same time?!!!
