Hi. Does anyone here experience checking their poop ( gross I know) and see that there's like a black, flat/ flake in it?

I do. You have to remember that there is actually a bunch of poops that we haven’t seen and also sometimes food doesn’t get digested the right way. Eating certain things can cause different colors. Do you have actual reason to worry about this? Are you having any other symptoms that you haven’t experienced? I had a little blood in my poop (sorry not trying to be gross) and with all of my anxiety symptoms i have going on, I freaked out. I automatically assumed that I was dying and it was barely any blood and I was having potty problems that day. My fiancé said “ok. If it gets any worse, we will take you to the ER. Just try to relax and don’t over think it.” Before I knew it, I was even thinking about it anymore, but I did check my stools over the next couple of days and everything has been fine. That was over two weeks ago.

Also, when I said “Do you have actual reason to worry about this?” I wasn’t saying that you don’t have an actual reason to worry about it. Anxiety and health anxiety are the worst and I’m sorry if that sounded wrong!!! I just mean like are there any abnormal symptoms going on along with your potty looking like that? I know that anxiety can give us so many different symptoms so sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference!

Thanks for the reply destinymichelle! After talking to my bestfriends and family, I finally calmed down. Since December, I have these dull pain that comes and goes ( whenever I think about it, it hurts for seconds) My poop looks normal to me. Deep inside I know that it's just my anxiety acting up but I really do need reassurance. Really, thank you for responding.

It’s okay, we all benefit from the reassurance from time to time. We monitor every little symptom that we get and it’s very scary! I’m glad that you’re okay and have calmed down a bit ❤️ I’m here if you ever need anyone to talk to.

Yes, for years. Now I have to go in for a colonoscopy because my Blood Occult Sample came back positive. There are dozen of reasons for a positive result, but having anxiety for 25+ years all I can focus on is the negative. I'm going through Xanax like skittles. I've gone from saying, "if it's not serious maybe they will only remove my semicolon." lol To now practically having the funeral home on speed dial. It's kinda gross but you're not alone. People without anxiety have concerns. People with anxiety, those same concerns, turn into zombies.

Not what you're looking for?
