Sertraline and Chronic Diarrhoea... HELP

Can anyone share any tips on how to control this situation?!

I’ve been on Sertraline for about 7 weeks now and up until a few days before Christmas my only side affects had been the nausea when initially starting my 50mg a day dose.

The week leading up to Christmas I started experiencing diarrhoea, which I presumed was eating too much rich food or indulging in a little alcohol ( I don’t drink all that much of it and I’m aware the medication notes say to avoid it ) however it wasn’t accompanied with any other particular symptoms. Over a week later it’s the same and I’ve not had alcohol for a few days and have been eating some good foods. I’m thinking of booking in to see a dr but this time of year it’s difficult to achieve that.

Does anyone have any advice or tips on how I can attempt to control it at all? Can a dr do anything about it?

I’ve not taken any loperamide or other medication to stop it and have been ensuring I drink lots of fluids. So far I’m happy with what the medication is doing for my anxiety. Any info would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

hi drink plenty of water to clear out your system and take Imodium and if that fails to help then go back to your doctor.
