Law of Attraction make me anxious

I hate law of attraction, i feel bad, guilty, and seriously going crazy because of it

I have anxiety disorder and OCD, I can not not thinking bad thing will happened, I will obsessively looking on something until I feel satisfaction (which is almost never happened).

I know LOA is just metaphysics without real evidences, but the fear it spread makes me fear my own thought and always feel guilty, worse, people surround me believe this LOA religiously.

I had a cat with FIP (a severe and gravely illness with no cure and happened due to unique mutation of coronavirus, with very small oddity happened) and have been put to sleep last month, my remaining cat was healthy until he shred and ate yoga mat lead him to light bowel obstruction, when i said, "i'm scared he will be like the last cat" my mother retort with, "don't call it then, when you think and said negative things, it will happened" << which frigging worsened my anxiety, my vet also said the same thing, and i feel truly guilty, it feels like i'm the one who make my cat illness worsened.

here;s the thing about LOA, it taught us to never think negative thoughts, always be positive, which is I can't, it's been years I have incapability of positive thoughts, I always assume bad thing will happened to me. one of the LOA theorist said "If you think or talk about diseases, you will become sick. What you think or surround yourself with – good or bad, is what you will bring upon yourself" << so if i thought about "I'm scared of FIP, will my cat get FIP" will come true? but how come when I wish good thing happened to me and visualize it, it never happened, but negative thing happened? how spiteful universe toward me???

because of LOA, i feel guilty, miserable, and live in fear. when i'm a teenager, my teacher gave me "The Secret" book to boost me think more positively, guess what, it brings me down even harder, and develop OCD ritual, everytime i think negative thoughts, i will knocking the wood repettitively, when the thoughts keep going, guess what? i keep knocking on wood whole day until my hand develop blisters and wound

I'm going to make this really simple. I don't mean to offend anyone, but I surely will.

We are sacks of meat and bones blundering around a rock with some water on it that floats in space. There is definitely no such thing as destiny or luck, only coincidence. I know that's hard to believe, but if you think about how many billion people are walking around, most doing nothing special, why do they believe that some divine force is super attuned to their every thought and then maps out the destiny of other people/animals/objects based on that?

Think about the logistics. Each person on Earth would need to have story writers, interpreters, destiny-enacters... We're just not that important. Sorry. I hope that makes you feel better. :)

Everyone would like to believe that "everything happens for a reason" but if you really think about it and are honest with yourself the only conclusion to come to is that it's preposterous. There's no such thing as coincidence? So if I shuffle a deck of cards and pull a king of diamonds, then shuffle it again and pull a king of diamonds, what happened? A divine being made me pull the same card again for no particular reason? It was my destiny to pull the same card twice in a row despite the fact that it has no effect whatsoever on anything?

Life is not a meritocracy, my friend. You need only look around for 10 seconds to know that. It's too bad, because a meritocracy would be amazing.

Are you just arguing against the painfully obvious for something to do? You're saying there's no such thing as coincidence, talking down to me with your tone about how life is, like you know something I don't... I'm at work man, don't have time for arguing the finer points of destiny and mathematics with someone who is just trying to be pedantic. Have a good one.

Look up "Abraham Hicks" on youtube, the crazy cult leader old lady behind The Secret and LOA. She's adopted this name and talks about herself as a group entity from another realm, amongst other things. It's equally as nuts but worse than Scientology, in that she's doing a better job of monetizing pieces of her message to the masses. It's nonsense, she's crazy, and it has nothing to do with your life. Really, this is not remotely science or anything that should be influencing your existence.

LOA is constantly focusing on something, not a one-off thought. LOA also teaches people to take action to make things happen. Thoughts don't make things happen. Action does. Unless you deliberately made your cats sick -- of course you didn't! -- your thoughts did nothing. Thoughts do nothing unless you act on them or react to them.

Think about this: did everyone with cancer use LOA to get it? Would you blame their cancer on their negative thoughts? Do abused kids speak their abuse into existence through negative thoughts? What about natural disasters? Would you blame survivors for what happened? What about plane crashes, car crashes, etc? Did those people think their injuries or deaths into existence?

You wouldn't blame others for bad things happening to them. Don't blame yourself either. Your mum and the vet were saying, "Stay positive!" Positive thoughts will stop the anxiety and make you feel so much better.

You are so not alone!!! I have a really hard time wrapping my head around the whole LOA theory as well. Like who really Wants to think bad thoughts. We look to tools like LOA for hope but then the hope is stumped upon because some of us struggle with thinking positively especially if negativity is all that is known or at least appears that way in one’s life. So now this thing I turned to is turning against me because I can’t get it right. I can’t force myself to think in a way that doesn’t come natural to me and furthermore, force myself to believe it even when I don’t. Therefore, I’m doomed because my natural inclination to think negatively has trapped me into yet another negative situation because I attracted it. Smh. I see it as a concept and it’s something I can choose to accept or reject. I say try it and if it doesn’t fit then it’s time to find another concept or tool for hope/change that resonates more truthfully.

Bad things happen. We all endure trauma, tradgedy, loss and some days arent that bad but our negative attitude (due to depression) makes it every day feel challenging.

We have to accept we cant go back in time, accept we cant predict the future. And live in the moment. Worrying doesnt stop bad things from happening.... worrying makes you unable to enjoy any good.

If that makes sense?
