Hi everyone for the past two days I've had a cold and my mucus from both my mouth and nose is green it sometimes has blood in it( not much just a little) is this normal ?

Addison, do you have a cough with a temperature?

It sounds like a bad sinus infection or bronchitis.

Please see your doctor. You may need antibiotics.

Hi Agora 1 yes I do have a temperature with the cough.

This is consistent with a chest infection and you might need ab's so see your doctor. My guess is that you are coughing a lot and it is very common to break one of the tiny veins in your throat which will produce a little blood. It's nothing to worry about though. x

Good. I have suffered from chest infections a lot in my life so am very aware of the symptoms.

I remember getting my first one around 30 odd years ago and had no idea what it was so put up with it for more than a month. The doctor thoroughly told me off for not going sooner... x

Ohhh myyy sorry bout that...

A few months now I noticed I've been clearing my throat often and most times a clear jelly mucus like substance will come out and like 2 or 3 days bk I got a temperature along with the cold and that's wen it started it wud be green and with a little blood

You need doc appt ASAP, you have

Infection that requires antibiotics to clear up. I believe anytime your mucous is colored , it is an infection.

All colds create coloured mucus, but not requiring antbiotics. I have a cold right now with lots of green stuff, the body's own defences will fight it. I have also had a little blood in my tisue and this is certainly from my nose, where the dry mucus causes a tiny lesion, but it too has gone. I am on blood thinners so were it something worse I would soon know.

Some doctors have offered me antibiotics in the past for a simple cold, but I have refused and always would unless there are complications.
