I’m not a doctor, but I highly doubt that it’s a parasite. It’s probably just anxiety. I only say that maybe it’s anxiety because of the symptoms and the fact that you think it could be something very serious. I always think that something else is going on with me. If you still feel concerned, maybe you should talk about it with a doctor! Hope that you start feeling better soon love ❤️

I too tend to google my symptoms and think the worst. Last month I was so anxious because of nausea I had and I swore I must be pregnant... for no reason as I was not late for my time of month. I feel your struggle. But its always good to seek support on here and check with doctor when you have a lot of symotoms, esp the flu! đź’• hope you are feeling better!

This is what anxiety is, this is what it does. Your thinking when you have anxiety is faulty. To get over it put your trust in someone who you believe in such as a Doctor. Your Dr. or therapist have no reason to mislead you. Their well being depends on their patients getting better. If they lied to their patients they would soon start losing income. Let your Doctors guide you as you work toward over coming this beastly illness. Pam

If only that the the case in the UK with Gp's etc. they can say what they like, get it wrong, and all manner of things which I will not go into but still get paid the same. That is why I preferred the system when I lived in Australia, they had to be attentive and pleasant as the patient is their living. I imagine much the same in the US.

I am sorry you are suffering, I also have wondered all sorts of things and often I hear that people suffer with Lyme disease. Although I am a fairly anxious type of person, the most horrible anxiety started with me last November but the worst was the nausea, it is crippling. In desperation, I foolishly acquired some lorazapam, just taking one was like heaven, the anxiety went and best of all the nausea. However, I soon realised that I could not get too involved with this drug and just one occasionally became 3 a week and then so on. Now I am in the most awful state almost a year on, trying to taper with diazepam which costs me a fortune, it is not very effective and the nausea is constant to the point where it takes me around 40 minutes to try and chew through breakfast, lunch and dinner as I cannot give in to it. I had read that lorazepam is given to chemo patients for nausea. It is heaven to start with but ends up as hell. So this is just a word of warning, do not get involved with benzos. I hope you get over whatever it is. I do have severe osteoporosis and hyperparathryoidism which causes anxiety another thing ignored in the UK, although I have found a sympathetic surgeon now but he is not happy about me taking unauthorised benzos. Perhaps you have dealt with stressful things in your life and suddenly it has come to a head which I think is what has happened to me.

I was on many anxiety boards until I found my culprit. I had a ct scan for something unrelated and found benign tumors on my adrenal glands! They cause my adrenals to secrete too much adrenaline and other hormones. This also causes my blood pressure to spike, periodic weakness, shortness of breath and flu like symptoms.

The good thing is a drug called spironolactone really helps. The question of surgery is a very complicated one.

Flu like symptoms are actually one of the classic symptoms of Anxiety! If you noticed in some books or movies, authors usually describe how characters feel so sick and nauseous due to the anxiety, so yeah it’s definitely anxiety. I actually do sometimes think that I have a parasite like you, or some dangerous undiscovered virus, but if that was the case I would be dead. Besides, parasite symptoms worsen quite rapidly and require immediate medical attention, they’re really deadly sometimes, trust me, if you had one, it wouldn’t just cause those symptoms you are complaining of. Hope everything gets better x
