Struggle off and on with health anxiety. Common symptoms for me are chest discomfort, elevated heart rate, and feeling drained- physically and emotionally. I have Claire Weekes book, read posts on here, and watch videos online (primarily The Anxiety Guy). I feel like I get some comfort and relief from tips I glean from these sources, but still struggle to let go. I find myself clenching my teeth, and tensing my body subconsciously. Any advise for what to do when you start to feel bad seemingly out of the blue? My mind trys to rationalize my feelings and find a cause... Sometimes it seems like physical symptoms may stem from acid reflux, or be worse when I haven't had enough sleep. But what to do when duty calls but physically/emotionally you hardly feel up to face the challenge?

What works best for you?
OMG...I so relate to how you feel. I also have read & listened to Claire Weeks work. She's wonderful. I also have chest discomfort, reflux, racing heart, tired, light headedness, and clench and grind my teeth a lot. That makes my jaw hurt which sends my anxiety through the roof. it's more like my teeth hurt and I get sharp pains in my face and mouth. As you stated, the best thing to do is let go but it can be the hardest. I also have a problem with constant body scanning. Distraction is the best thing. Also, realize that it's anxiety and it CAN'T HURT YOU although it can make you feel horrible. Exercise, slow, deep breathing, positive mantras, watch a movie, etc. Often the symptoms with either become much less intense or disappear all together. We're all in this together!
Mine is not because of anxiety, and I have been doing yoga and meditation etc for many years.
