Tight, tingly legs

For a long time now the muscles in my lower legs have been very tight , I cant step down high steps or from say the grass on to the beach if its more thana foot or so high, lately my lower legs and feet feel tight and a bit puffy and have a buzzing sensation in them also very tight muscle behind the knee and down a bit that sort of has a cramp in it often. sorry rather hard to explain, I think the more Im worrying about it the worse it is, of course dont want to google it otherwise ill be convinced its def something like Parkinsons or ms or something sinister. Ive just had blood tests done and my cholesterol was rather high so i will be going back to my Dr to see if that could be to do with it. Is it possible that my anxiety over it is making it worse. I have also recently gone through menopause, anyone else had similar thank you

I had similar symptoms and this is quite possibly a potassium deficiency or a b12 deficiency or magnesium deficiency. If your b12 is low normal I would take it anyway. And if your kidneys are good (with clearance from your doctor) get more potassium in and see how it works for you. Up through food and a possible supplement. Look into doctor Berg on YouTube he has a lot of good info on YouTube.

thank you so much for taking the time to reply, I had some blood tests done and kidney function was good, cholesterol was high but the Dr said that wouldnt cause the feelings in my legs. Im having another blood test tomorrow to check something to do with the liver, which will check my thyroid and vit B12, i eat a good balanced diet with lots of fruit and veg but you never know, fingers crossed its just something like that, I tend to always think the worse and get very anxious about it so my lower legs feel like they are buzzing/vibrating constantly at the moment and feel tight like ive got tight socks on, when i havnt, possibly all the worry is causing it too, who knows, thanks again for your help, i will def check out the you tube info

When we are in fight or flight mode our bodies are dumping epinephrine which can cause leg cramps. Also when you are thinking about it, it raises your anxiety and obsessive thinking may come. Hope this helps and you feel better❤️

thank you Rebecca for taking the time to reply to my message, its really appreciated and I know exactly what you mean and hope that its just the fact that im so anxious about it that the buzzing/vibrating numb feelings in my lower legs and feet are so noticeable at the moment, i know our brains can do crazy things when we are anxious.

Regardless your body is communicating to you something is off balance. I was having a strong buzzing sensation in my feet/lower legs after doing a fast and it’s taken me months to figure it out. Plus a high heart rate and extreme weakness I could hardly do anything. Now I’ve finally pinned it down to potassium when the doctors kept saying nothing was wrong, all the blood tests were fine. My serum potassium was in the normal range but I had him order a potassium rbc test and it was on the low end. It’s honestly kind of scary that I had all the symptoms of hypokalemia and went to the hospital and they did nothing because I was still in the normal range. Remember that they calculate test results based on the sick and the healthy. Some people have more sensitive systems than others as was my case. So listen you your body because the doctors can’t put themselves in it. I know a potassium deficiency can also cause fluid retention. Ask for a magnesium rbc test and a potassium rbc test for a better diagnosis than the standard serum tests.
