I'm sure we've all got different stories on here, mine was from substance abuse over the years. Was sort of like a kick in teeth 'this is what it's like to be sober'.

How long have you had tinnitus ? I went through a period where I lost my hearing in one ear, had tinnitus every day and felt off all the time. One of many super anxious times in my life without explanation of why symptoms started. I ask because mine did go away after about 9 months or so after they diagnosed me with Menieres. It was the weirdest thing, and looking back, I’ve had many weird things like that that come and then eventually go after months. I have generalized anxiety, so the only explanation seems to be the anxiety. Looks like there’s a good chance it will not be with you forever. This was probably about 8 years ago and it hasn’t come back. I continue to not be able to handle every new symptom even though this has been my life for many years while not on meds. Good luck A I think it will go after regulating the anxiety.
Yeah anxiety and stress seems to bring it on. Mine is pulsatile tinnitus which is blood flow ( whooshing ) in the ears. Mine is manageable now as mostly don’t hear it but I have days when I’m feeling a little anxious or stressed or even pissed off and it’s more loud etc because my blood pressure is up. It can depend on what I eat and drink too. ( sugar etc ).
What sort is yours ?
Plus , Anxiety or health anxiety as mine is ... pain in the arse. As new symptoms that are very real come and go over time but your senses heighten to them and it makes it worse.
I don’t really know where the tinnitus came from. I woke up one day and had lost most of the hearing in one ear. Got testing for months while I had tinnitus and dizzy spells and general off feeling and was anxious the whole time not knowing what caused it. Over 9 months it improved and eventually went away. It was bizarre but anxiety has caused many situations that don’t make sense. I have generalized anxiety disorder with health anxiety/hypochondria I would say. Latest symptoms are shortness of breath for weeks or months at a time. I feel like I’ve had so many it’s hard to know how I got better each time. I feel for you and commiserate - it’s a really tough way to live. Contemplating medication again but trying to eat Whole Foods and cut sugar and carbs to get gut health in check while excercising and using the DARE book. Hope you start feeling better soon.
