Hi I don’t know whether anyone else here has experienced this. I’m on a lively holiday in sunny Greece, everything should be wonderful, so why is it I’m so anxious ? Yesterday I had a real panic attack, palpitations, crying, the works. I’ve had these before but never on my hols.
I’ve felt homesick for the first time ever( at the age of 62), I’m worried about my health- what would I do if this or that happened, worried about whether I’ll sleep, worried about whether I’ll have another panic attack! I’m trying to overcome it with breathing deeply, talking to my husband about it, and using calming essential oils. It has come as such a shock. Any reassuring words of wisdom out there?

So very sorry to hear your anxiety is spoiling what should be a lovely holiday. Perhaps being away from your familiar surroundings has made you feel like this. Could you maybe just have a couple of quiet days, perhaps by the pool with a book, while you settle and begin to feel calmer? I hope you manage to enjoy the rest of your time away.
Thank you for your kind words. Feeling a little better today, but still unsettled. Just trying to enjoy the sunshine and beautiful scenery for now, and using all the techniques I have learned over the years to ease my mind and let go of anxious thoughts.
I have a girls trip to Colorado with my sisters in a couple of weeks. My anxiety is in high gear and I keep thinking something horrible will happen. I know I just have to suck it up and go but I don’t want to ruin it for anyone else.
I understand what you mean. I think talking to someone helps- like using this forum! Maybe try writing down your fears too, as I find it helps to clear your mind. I also try to remember it is natural to worry about things going wrong- it is just how we react to that worry that makes the difference! Just because you think something, that doesn’t make it real. It is just a thought, no more. Acknowledge it and try to dismiss it! You’ll have your Sisters with you so all will be ok. Have a great trip.
