Hi all, OK so my doctor keeps saying I've got anxiety I'm currently on 150mg sertraline and 40mg propranolol 2x a day. I've always noticed that when I have stomach issues my anxiety goes sky high, I always feel like I need the bathroom or my bowel is always full even after going to the toilet. I've been suffering with acid for around 3 years now, I can't eat spicy foods or anything to rich etc....does anyone else have anxiety CAUSED by these issues. Doctor keeps telling me that my stomach issues won't cause anxiety outright but anxiety will make them worse. I strated getting anxiety after stomach and gerd started. Any suggestions because I'm loosing my mind. Sick of being pilled up to feel 'normal' and I still don't. I've also got this feeling of congestion in my nose but it's not blocked at all and I'm making it sore by blowing it all the time.

Anxiety/stomach issues/gerd
My anxiety gets terrible when i have stomach issues.
I too have had reflux, gastric ulcers and some other issues.
Have you tried any acid reducing meds like prilosec to help with the gerd.
How long have you been on the zoloft?
I'd been on it over 10 years but it stopped working (100mg, i couldn't tolerate higher dose s/e) so i switched to lamictal and i feel so much better. I take 25mg of seroquel at night and also gabapentin for anxiety.
I also take kratom, 5mg twice a day.
This combo is working quite well.
A conversation with your dr about medication might be warranted. If you're feeling poorly on your current regimen. Sometimes you have to try a few different things before you find the right one.
I tried cymbalta, remeron and paxil before. None of those agreed with me. The cymbalta kept me awake for 72 hours, even on ambien. That sucked. Lol
When my stomach anxiety hits, i try to just breathe and remind myself it will pass. But it's awful when its happening.
I hope you find some peace and relief!
Yes. I get these issues. Anxiety can hide in the background when your not even feeling anxious. The physical symptoms can happen just like that! It's hard to believe, but it does. The Mind and body are connected.
