Can anxiety and stress really built to the point you feel down and depressed?

I had a lot of anxiety the past few weeks and now all of a sudden I just feel down and anxious. Like I’m having random crying episodes. And it feels like a cloud over me. I hate making decisions and I have to decide which job I want to take I was offered two different ones and I’m scared to leave the one I have but I can’t financially keep doing it and they don’t offer any benefits. I’m happy in a relationship. But I miss the person a lot too we see each other about once a week. I’m falling into some sort of episode and it terrifies me that I’ll be this way forever and I don’t want that. . I’m scared I can’t keep overthinking idk how to stop. I have a therapy appt next week thank god .

Yes it can, I have recently been depressed because I noticed how anxiety ruined my hobbies like MMA for me and simple activities like long walks, how I can’t seem to be this active person I used to be before. I have a combination of anxiety and depression nowadays, you’re not alone.

Absolutely. We tend to focus on things that upset us after all, and all the worrying effects daily living so quality of life generally drops.

I always get very depressed when my anxiety is at its worse. In glad you’ve got an appointment with a therapist coming up, you have a lot on your plate and need to have a good talk.

Until your appointment try focus on the positive in your life. Where you see bad I see good. You’ve got two job offers, that’s great! While it’s stressful to pick one and make a change, think of how nice having benefits will be and make life easier. You’ve also got a relationship and though it’s not the easiest, it’s still makes you generally happy. I know it’s easy for me to talk and tell you what to do, I’m not in your shoes, but honestly, I’ve found that forcing myself to see the opposite of every anxious thought really is a helpful exercise. Consider all the possibilities, not just the worst.

Good luck
