Random anxiety

I’ve slept really well over the last few nights and tonight I’ve been laid in bed almost falling asleep when all of a sudden I got chest and left arm pains and as soon as I sit up I’m fine. I wasn’t thinking of anything I wasn’t thinking of my anxiety or anything but can these pains still be anxiety related?

I have similar anxiety when I lay down. No pain but I get really hot and feel like I want to jump out of my skin.

Your symptoms resolve when you sit up so could be anxiety component.

Do you have it at any other time of the day?

Not really I can sometimes have it during the day for a little while but it’s nothing compared to on a night when I lay down.

I wouldn't ignore any type of chest pain issues

My advice is always the same. See an md first and go from there.

I went to the doctors and hospital I’ve had blood tests, X-ray and ECG which they said was fine. I then went to the doctors again and he said my symptoms are anxiety like symptoms and has referred me to counselling. Just went it comes on randomly even when I’m not thinking about it I worry because it doesn’t feel normal or quite right.

When we are dealing with anxiety it’s a two step process it’s both mind and body you have overcome the mind aspect but the body is still dealing with some of the anxiety so be kind to yourself. These feelings of anxiety are like waves that come and go it’s normal. Your job is to make sure you guide your body to peaceful place by breathing techniques and thoughts of self care and kindness remind the body it is safe and that it will pass.

Thankyou so much. I think my mind is completely use to it now and I’ve learnt to deal with it and not thinking about it the way I did before just sometimes my body seems to take over and I have no control over it.

That’s okay. Your not perfect and you been through a lot and your body has to. Have you check out books on anxiety. Have you change your diet to boost positive chemical rebalance ? There’s a lot to do for yourself it’s your job to do the work. :) do you meditate, run? All of these things the body is asking from you

I’ve been told by a few people to read books on anxiety, especially because I’m new to all this I think it’s one thing I do really need to do! Thankyou so much

So glad your medical check up is ok.

We do have to learn to deal with it. Some days are better than others. For some reason my night anxiety has ramped up over the last two weeks.

I don't even want to lay down in anticipation of the anxiety coming on.

That’s exactly like me! The fear of getting into bed at night and falling asleep! Use to absolutely love sleeping too, now it’s my worst nightmare!🤣
