Anxiety and panic attacks have been the dominant force in my life for 25+ years, and in recent years I've been having a regular symptom I've yet to see anyone else mention - my ankles, knees, or wrists (and lately, my chest) will feel hypersensitive, for lack of better terms, where I'll have to wrap them up using neoprene braces (the kind found at a drug store) or else using bandages to wrap the hypersensitive area.
To clarify, it isn't that those areas are in any kind of pain, it's as if some part of my brain doesn't believe they are still there, so I have to wrap them as to apply pressure to sort of remind or reassure my brain that they are still there. (as odd as that sounds, I have yet to find a good way of describing it.)
The closest I can come to finding others having something similar is the popularity of weighted blankets in recent years - having some kind of pressure on the body to quell anxiety.
I'd love to hear if anyone has ever experienced something similar. Thanks...
