Dizziness

The past couple weeks have been great. I dare say most of my anxiety symptoms are gone but the dizziness persists. I’m left wondering if it’s my Zoloft or the anxiety. I didn’t have dizziness until I upped my dose to 150 since then I’ve gone back down to 125 but it hasn’t subsided much.

Anyone have experience with dizziness while on Zoloft? Or experience it with their anxiety? I cut out my herbal tea and now I wonder if it’s any of the supplements I take. Magnesium, vitamin D, probiotic and omega 3.

Zoloft is a drug which has such affect of dizziness. Especially when decreasing it to quickly. I have been there and know what you are going through. Also be sure when laying down or sitting you don’t get up to quickly. Dizziness will take place from the lack of blood which is getting to the brain. It will last only for a few seconds before you regain balance. Be sure the dizziness is gone before standing up. Sudden loss of balance may take place. The last I want is for you to be injured do to this.

I have the dizziness almost 24/7. It used to come and go, but now it stays a lot longer.

In addition to the medication be sure to stay hydrated. Also control your breathing to where you get the amount of oxygen needed to the brain. Also if you are taking anything such as Zantac 75 you need to stop immediately. It will cause complete dizziness.

Hey Mongea. I had periodic dizziness (often) before Zoloft, but more often since I went on it. I also take pretty much the exact same supplements that you mentioned. I think the Zoloft has helped with my overall state of mind, though, so for now I'm just putting up with the dizziness.

Ugh. I don’t know how you put up with it. I’m thinking about weaning off completely, it’s become pretty overwhelming.

I understand what you're saying, I deal with dizziness, almost daily, and its horrible, I've been on on several SSRI medications, and they all made me feel worse. So far therapy had helped me the most, and accepting they most of my symptoms are anxiety related, and tend to feed onto anxiety they create...

The dizziness and visual crap was one of my many symptoms. The dizziness is still there at times not as bad. I started on Zoloft 50 then to 100 for 3 weeks. They tried me on 150 it was bad. I'm back at 100 but think maybe 125 would help.

After staying at 125 for a few weeks, the dizziness started to go away. I’m now down to 112.5 mg of Zoloft and no dizziness. However, as I went down some of my other anxiety symptoms snuck back in. So I guess it’s a game of which side effect/symptom you’re willing to tolerate.
