Just thought I would ask for advice on new job stress.
I left my last job after 4 years as the stress got to be too much. Starts with insomnia and leads to anxiety, then I get bummed thinking my line of work sucks.. project management is stressful!
I don’t want to get stuck in the same situation and the pressure is beginning to start as this new job starts Monday.
To make things harder, this is a higher ranking position, ugh.. the appliances around my house are breaking left and right so I need the extra $ to fix all this stuff, so I feel real obligated to stay at this job no matter what.
How do you get to sleep when you’re stressed? My whole downfall seems to start there.
I don’t always follow my own advice but it is very important to breathe. New jobs are stressful, if you need a breather then take one, don’t bite off more than you can chew. I took frequent bathroom trips at my old job just to “recharge” and release some pent up anxiety/stress. Take a very small dose of melatonin, not enough to make you tired but a little to take the edge off, I would do that when I didn’t have anti anxiety meds. But most importantly, breathe, you got this! Good luck on your first day ❤️
If I really need to sleep my last resort is to take a little NyQuil or the ZZZ 💤 it doesn’t happen often but it’s always nice to know I have it on hand and it’s not like you have to take a medication every day that takes weeks to get into your system. It might not be for everyone and it might not agree with some medication but it’s what works for me. Good luck with your new job. Hope you can find some peace today 🤗
