Anyone have similar symptoms?

I’ve had a headache on and off for almost three weeks. Went to ER last week doc did a neuro exam said everything seemed fine. Didn’t want to give me a CT scan cause of the radiation. Throbbing pain in left side by temple also pain at the back of head near neck. Tingling cold sensation on the top of my head sometimes going down to my eyes. Scared and panicked.

Gmfc, the ER doctor did the neuro exam showing that you are okay. Sometimes doctors

can over test and expose you to harmful radiation for no valid reason and you don't want that either...

What you are experiencing, I too have had. The same type of headache that you described

including it was daily. I'd go to bed and wake up with the same pain. I was suffering extreme anxiety at that time which caused chronic headaches both Muscle Contraction as well as Migraines. So when I didn't have one, I had another. I listened to a Relaxation Tape daily along with Physical Therapy ordered by my doctor to release the muscle spasms at the base of the head/neck. Applying heat worked for me but some use ice paks.

The more we tense up and worry about the pain, the tighter the muscles become.

Over the counter pain meds had to be used sparingly or they would produce rebound headaches. It will eventually run it's course and you will be free of the pain. Talking therapy can help get down to the root of your stress as well as talk about your fears.

I've been where you are and know how painful and scary it could be. You will be okay.

You are safe. Let time heal you. :) xx

Thanks for the reply, it helped me calm down a lot. More unsettling for me is the tingling cold sensation on the top of my head that travels down my face. I also had major sweats this morning. Just need to relax as stressing isn’t going to help anything. I have a fear of brain cancer as I watched my brother in-law die of a brain tumor 4 years ago. It was a horrible thing.

Gmfc, I am truly sorry for the loss of your brother in law. I can imagine how this is playing into your fear of the headache. However, you are not he. Headaches, even

chronic do not have to mean that there is something catastrophic going on. It's your

subconscious mind feeding into your fears. Sometimes we can be are our own worst

enemy. Have you seen a private doctor for this issue? Maybe a Neurologist (which I

did at the time) A professional opinion will be better able to reduce your anxiety and

concerns. I wish you well. Please keep us updated. Namaste x
