I did have those same thoughts and turns out , my partner accepts me for me and is there for me as I am wanting to overcome anxiety.

I pushed him away for that exact thought you have , of being too weird , or being a burden or handful . He remains there for me. I’m so happy for that.

You will find someone who accepts you for you. Keep thinking that. Do not let anxiety stand in your way for love , it will try ..trust me.. but don’t let this mental disorder win. It already tries to stand in the way of so much. Think optimistic. Our mind , as we should know here in this group, is SO powerful. If you know that your mind can trick you into thinking negatively to a point where we physically see the effects of it, that it won’t try to “ruin” your chances at love? Oh, it can if you allow it.

Take a moment , one day out of a week. I’d say you could do this once & it’ll work. Think like you are deserving of love , think of your ideal partner , really visualize ..( from physical features to personality traits ...EVERYTHING you want ) and feel as if they’re already there locally where you are, and that you’ll bump into em. Manifest that. Then, trust that you’ll meet them ..& leave it alone, go about your business and you will meet them. Have faith. Occasionally, dream of them too.

I did that lol , and aside from his big head lol 😂 he’s everything mostly that I wanted . Yeah , he has his set of flaws but so do I . There’s never gonna be a perfect partner , per se , but one that’s perfect for you. And, I winded up making the first move , but he was persistent in wanting to be my friend , and we were for a year or two.. we took things slow , but something told me to let it be known I liked him , turns out , he felt the same way & we’ve been together ever since, for a while now.

Do not allow anxiety to make you feel you aren’t worthy of love. Being agoraphobic for 2 and a half years , I definitely allowed anxiety to rule me.

Don’t let it RULE you. Nooope

Everyone has things they struggle with, and they manage to form relationships just the same. No one really knows why particular people are attracted, but somehow it ends up working out.

It also doesn't seem to be the case that people with serious struggles are less desirable, and end up with partners who also have serious struggles. When Alice meets Bob, he's not thinking, "She's quite pretty so that's three points. The anxiety might be a problem sometimes, so take off two points; no, just one because it's not too bad. That's two points so I'll date her." We don't know what makes two people fall in love, but it isn't a cold calculation like that.

It might seem silly to say that anxiety has any positive side, but some of the nicest people I've known have had mental health struggles. I wonder if anxiety in particular causes you to spend ages worrying about what other people think of you, and the result is that you get more empathetic. You therefore end up being better socially, not in the sense of being a loud extrovert, but in the sense of genuinely relating to people and getting on with them.

Anxiety won't stop you finding someone, and when you have the right man, he won't see "handling" your anxiety as a burden. It will be part of you and he will enjoy supporting you.
