Question about depersonalization / derealization

Hey folks!

So I have a question about depersonalization /derealization. Ever since I started Zoloft for panic, I notice it happening more.

I also have this thing happen where I’ll look at something and quickly thing of another thing. Like, I’ll look at somebody’s computer, and think back immediately to a computer I’ve seen before that’s the same. I don’t know if it’s from Zoloft or if I’m just hyper focused on my mind now (I’m a super healthy anxiety person). I’ll also be reminded of people if I see somebody with a similar trait. I legit got scared I had schizophrenia or something and the docs said I don’t lol. Is this type of memory recall normal? Is it part of depersonalization/derealization?

Have you discussed with your GP at all?

zoloft is an SSRI and sometimes these can affect folate levels. Although it's not a commonly recognised symptom of folate (and B12 deficiency) they can cause various psychological effects such as hypersensitivity and depresonalisation/derealisation.

Hm weird! I discussed it with a psychiatrist and they said it’s normal. I take b12 vitamins!

folate levels change very quickly and are very responsive to dietary intake so can change quite quickly - B12 levels tend to be very stable (unless you have an absorption problem).

I’ll definitely check on folate! Thank you:)
