Brain Eating Amoeba

Hi, an anxiety sufferer here.

I went swimming in a popular natural (72 degree) springs here in Florida. I jumped in once and got water all up in my nose. Then i swam over to a ladder and got out.

That was all fine and dandy until a 2 am thought hit---brain eating amoebas.

I've looked at preventative ways to avoid them but I had ruined them all, 1: I got water up my nose. 2: Didn't use a nose clip or hold my nose 3: I disturbed some sediment at the bottom of the body of water.

This all happening about 18 hours ago.

Am I crazy to be having a panic attack? is there absolutely anything i can do? Do I try to just ignore it until the very slight chance I have any symptoms?

Yes ignore it. The chances of getting brain amoebe is so slight it is almost unheard of. It is more common in tropical countries like Africa or Asia so don't worry about it. x
