So I had my 24 hour holter monitor which the doctor said just showed a fast heart rate and she couldn’t see anything else.so I assumed she would now after all my tests just concentrate on the anxiety.but she wants to send me to cardiology??as someone who is absolutely terrified of my heart and was hoping for some anxiety treatment, I’m really not sure what to think now.😖
Ps I’ve also had countless ecgs, blood tests, blood pressure and oxygen, and a chest x Ray and all clear.

I have had 4 episodes this month of waking up with a racing heart and going to hospital.all ecgs and tests fine except the racing.i just really wanted an answer today and to maybe start some antidepressants.i guess I just don’t do well with not knowing what’s happening.
Thank you so much for your words.and so comforting to know that you have gone through this too.

Hi Minnie! Absolutely agree with Agora. It is standard for a GP to send you to cardio after the testing is complete. Generally the thinking is, "well, it's all clear from my end but the patient is still worried/has complaints. I'll send her to cardiology for reassurance". So it sounds like your GP is very thorough and taking excellent care of you. Pls don't forget that the autonomic nervous system is such an amazing system, and in anxious folks it's truly top of the line- works SO well. And the sympathetic branch of the autonomic nervous system, when sensitized, is responsible for a high heart rate. This is normal in the circumstances, harmless, and it all settles down beautifully once you learn to stop adding fear to things. You might find this helpful:
The education around how anxiety works in our bodies was key for us to start down the path of acceptance (accepting all symptoms as normal, benign, harmless anxiety symptoms- no need to fear them). I hope you find it helpful. Hugs! Keep us posted Minnie!
im waiting for the monitor to be fitted,iv got myself in a state which i know makes things worse,iv got a thumping heart and missed beats, its very frightening..it also comes on a lot after eating..i look forward to the day when its all gone..im not on any medication, have tried several but makes my anxiety worse..hope you feel better soon, its so nice that there are people on here with the same symptoms ,i dont feel so alone....
