Anyone else have issues with waking up in a sweat most nights?

Sweating at night, Anxiety
Or mornings
Yes, me - most definitely! I am now post menopausal so it's not that, and I have suffered with this since being a teen after my GAD was first triggered by my Mum's early passing. I also get it really badly along with the horrible shaking of the cortisol awakening response every morning (do you get this too)? You are not alone!❤
Mornings. Wow. Mornings and waking are so awful. The only thing I can do to get past the shaking is breathing and getting an ativan. I try to get back to sleep but once I'm up lm up. I will stay there with anxiety until I'm forced to get out of bed to use the washroom.
Absolutely! The worst, worst feeling! It actually kicks in before you even have a conscious thought (or so it seems)! The shaking can 100% be blamed on morning cortisol, and our sensitivity to it (and elevated levels) due to our sensitised systems. I hope this helps to know at least that it is another delightful 'normal' symptom of high anxiety. ❤
For sure I'm well aware of the shaking and fear. The sweat bothers me and really gets my anxiety up. My 17 year old son tells me he has the sweats as well that helps me a little. 7pm in the evening. for me the evenings are better. Why cant they give us anticortisol medication. Hoping for relaxation.
Most definitely. Happened to me night before last. Broke out in sweats. And yes it has happened on many other nights.
Not only do I wake up in sweats I wake up having to take a HUGE breath of air and having a panic attack
This is my experience exactly. It hapens every night and every morning and has been going on for close to 6 months now. Once I fall asleep it's waking up just as you described all night long, with heart racing and panicked. Then in the morning, if Im lucky enough to sleep that long, I wake up with it. Like you, AnxietyMan41, Im forced to get up out of the bed and use bathroom or move about in some way. Is anyone taking meds for this and has it helped? Ive been prescribed clonazepam, but am terrified of addiction. Ive also been prescribed an SSRI (prozac). But, Ive read SSRIs can cause seizures and since Ive had an issue with that a while ago I am terrified of that as well. How to get this to end or at least calm down some? It is truly maddening, hellish, and torturous existence.
I take ativan and paxil. I guess for quite some time now I have been on those meds and life was livable and I was able to live fairly normal. I would always be anxious but handled very well. Any major issues would tend to set me back but I eventually get back on my feet. For the last three or so weeks it's been hell again but moments of relief come in the evenings when the day settles down. Mornings are the worst as you awaken from the peace of rest into the day and have to find things that keep you going.
I am so sorry to hear this came back on you. Again, my experience models yours nearly exactly. In the evening, sometimes, it settles down a bit. but, in the morning it's the worst. Do you have anyone with you, living with you I mean like family, to help. I'm all alone here raising my 5 year old boy. My situation is catostrophic quite frankly. Were destitute because his mom is ill. She lives seperately from us and is of little no help or worse, makes things worse at times. A long story...
