Hi everyone had a set back with my anxiety last week and woke up sweating and feeling very panicky. Couldn't go to work luckily I already had a doctors appointment booked that day for a different matter.I walked in and burst into tears and said I can't cope with these panic attacks anymore ! She signed me of work for 3 weeks and told me to take 1 x 20 mg citalopram she also commented on me having been on diazepam for over 2 years saying we don't usually prescribe for so long.I informed her I take one as required for anxiety they are 2 mg.I said I take half a tablet at bedtime to help me sleep, and more maybe half twice a day if anxiety is bad.had the citalopram sitting in kitchen for week to scared to take it .could any of you lovely people give me your advise on this citalopram 20 mg would be so grateful to hear if you have taken it.as side effects sound so scary and as you all well know well your anxiety is running high you don't want other symptoms on top of how you are already feeling.but part of me is saying maybe I do need something long term.I live on my own so even more scary .
