Good morning , I have been affected significantly over the last two years with anxiety. It’s a strange beast to learn to deal with, it takes control of simple everyday things and jumps up on you when your having a good day. I find that on good days I am able to refocus take the control back but it’s those other days when it wins. Does anyone have any tips for those days?

Hello and welcome.

It is completely normal to have ups and downs when struggling with anxiety. And you are very lucky that you have good days which you can get through without problem! As for the bad days, my advice would be to accept that feeling and realise that it’s okay to have a bad day, we’re all humans after all. Turn on some TV show you love, comedy, read a book, spend all day in bed, make a meal you love... some small gesture that will help you get through it. And most importantly, believe in yourself🙏

I started walking last year actually took part in the Cotswolds challenge did 25k. I found it a great way of dealing with anxiety. It’s the anti motivation demons who take over your whole body that make dealing with anxiety an issue. Good luck with your challenge

Welcome to HU~ I am glad you reached out on this forum. It helps to know you are not alone with your struggles of anxiety. Have you seen a doctor? So often anxiety is due to a chemical imbalance. Medication and counseling can help with anxiety. I found this article helpful in explaining anxiety - bit.ly/2t99LkE For me I know if I leave the situation I am anxious about, find things to take mind off of my concerns, I begin to feel better. I had to change my pattern of thinking. I would pray, take walks, talk with friends, listen to uplifting music and sermons. I will be praying for you. Please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing. God Bless!

Thank you for reaching out. Yes I have been under my GP for the last two years and currently having counselling. Some of the anxiety is coming to terms with a grey past which has been hard to deal with.

I am glad you are in counseling and working with your GP. Our anxiety is usually coming from things in our past that are hard to deal with. However, in order to feel better we need to heal from our past and break free from those hurts which are also know as keeping us in bondage. Dealing with those things from the past, one step at a time, is the way to getting better. I will be keeping you in my prayers. If you ever feel like sharing one on one. I am here for you. You can send me a pm. Sending you lots of hugs!

When I struggle, I reach out to my best friend. Talking helps me. We also walk and talk when the weather is good. Fresh air and a bit of exercise really makes a difference. And when it isn't enough, just give yourself a break and know it's okay to have an off day where you just need to nap or do whatever helps you relax.
