Anxiety Encouragement!

Hey everyone. It's been over a year since I started this panic/anxiety journey. Time has proved to be good for healing. I read many posts on here and see people in many different stages of anxiety. We're not all the same but my life a year later is tremendously better and I know yours will be too! Here's some things you can look forward to.

~I'm getting quality sleep again. This will heal you faster than anything.

~No more stomach pain. My appetite has come back times two!

~I can drive long distance without totally freaking out.

~Bowel movements are daily with no constipation.

~I can exercise without worry. I still don't go crazy and a little hesitant to push myself.

~Being in crowds is acceptable.

~The water from my shower head hitting my body doesn't trigger panic anymore.

~I don't worry about missing my alarm. This was a struggle when I wasn't getting sleep.

~Being alone for days at a time is ok. I still have some shaky moments but I'm fine.

There's many more. I'm not healed 100% and probably never will be but I can manage my life now and try new things. My next challenge is a 2 1/2 hour flight in one week. Flying never used to bother me but it's a challenge with anxiety. Please share your improvement moments if you wish! I'd like to hear your success stories.

Hey Titan,

SO happy to hear it! Sounds like you are doing so well!

My story is long! But very successful :) Let's just say that I think Claire Weekes and others who have written self-help materials using her approach are lifesavers :)

Wherever you are going on your flight I hope the journey and destination will be fantastic ✈️

Hello. It’s so encouraging to hear things are going to be better. I am on the beginning. Been diagnosed with panic disorder and got my medications 4 days ago. Still fear everything but hope it’s going to be better. 😊

Hi Masa! Great work getting things on the path to recovery. It just takes time and go at a pace comfortable for you. Challenge yourself to get exercise (even walks are fine) and don't underestimate yourself when you're feeling down. These symptoms do go away. Best wishes!

Thank you very much! I am going to talk about exercise while on SSRI’s with my therapist, just to make sure it is safe but if you have any experience, please let me know if it’s not a problem. 😊

I didn't take any medication. I was prescribed benzos and xanax but after only using one I decided against it. I didn't like the way I felt but they've done wonders for others. Start small with walks in your area with a friend or neighbor. You will do great.
