I have had a terrible day.
I have been told to 'let it go'
But how do you do that?

Sorry you have had a bad day. Its not always easy to just let it go, it takes time. Process the events that caused your bad day and also think about things that could have helped it be better. But most importantly ignore the person who says let it go. If you address it then it wont keep coming back
I think by ‘ let it go ‘ means. It’s happened.
Don’t let the feeling linger. I always try to dismantle my day, if bad. But have moved on from that. As soon as my day starts to take a dodge turn. Stop take a breath and deal with the situation there and then, I don’t let it get away until I am some what satisfied I have come to a somewhat flexible result. For me anyway, I find that way it doesn’t build up and leaves me feeling exhausted.
Happy new year
Letting go means having an attitude of being ok about not feeling ok. It’s about making your life bigger than anxiety, making the symptoms of anxiety ( e.g intrusive thoughts, depletion, physical symptoms etc) less important by not doing so many things dedicated to their removal. In time your body/brain/mind will drift away from it being an issue and the symptoms will fade away. Letting go is the same as accepting that the symptoms are anxiety based and to stop trying to control how you think and feel. Let your mind and body fall into any state and do absolutely nothing to try and change it.
