Can someone please tell me how long this generic (Sertraline 25 mg) Zoloft to kick in?? I have been on it approximately 2 week so far. My God! I am having a rough roller coaster ride on this stuff! I am trying to be patient with the medication. My appetite is practically gone and I am tired and spaced out when I wake up in the morning. For the last 3 nights I have taken Tylenol PM to help me sleep at night. I just take one pill to help me rest. I don't want to make it a habit. I want to try 5mgs of melatonin to help me rest instead. My heart still beats hard often especially at night and in the morning. In fact my blood pressure medication being recalled in August caused all of this mess I believe. I had to switch meds twice and to finally get back on my original bp med after my pharmacist said Valsartan was safe and under a new manufacturer. Anyways...my Dr thinks anxiety is the culprit and he put me on Zoloft 25 mgs (Sertraline). I just want to feel like my normal happy self again and learn how to cope and do better. If I have to continue to be on this Zoloft for my anxiety, I prefer the lowest dose possible. I want to be able to function and take care of my self and my child and enjoy being me again. I just want this medication to kick in as soon as possible. Thank you for your response and God bless.☺

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that it takes several weeks for sertraline to start working. The first few weeks of side effects are hard but persevere, it's worth it. I've been on it for 5 months now and it really helps with anxiety and depression. I hope this helps you. Message me anytime if you need to talk. xx
I'm so sorry I couldn't reply sooner, was having meal with my family. I'm also on 100 mg and they are working better for me. It's the only med I take for anxiety, depression and ocd. There are days when I have more symptoms than others but so far I am managing on this dose. Hope this is helpful to you. Stay strong and I'm always here for you. X
Zoloft was the very first antidepressant I was on. I, too, started on the generic form and after 2 months it still wasn't working. My doctor then wrote a prescription for the Zoloft name brand only. I don't know what the fillers are in the generic, but they caused it not to work well with my body. within a few days of starting the name brand Zoloft, I started feeling like myself again. Just remember, it's not unusual to have to try a few different meds to find one that works with your body's unique chemistry.
Oh, and melatonin is wonderful, but I'd start with no more than 2 mg. Too much can cause nightmares and restless sleep.
