Hey there everyone. I am on my 3rd day of Lexapro. I am not sleeping well, only eating what I need to (not hungry but know i have to eat), having some tightness in my chest, and a fog in my head. I have had other side effects but these are todays at the moment. I'm told that after a few weeks all will be good and the side effects will be gone. I went on Lexapro because the situation of the world is making panicky and I constantly think me and my family will get sick. I can't seem to stop my mind from the worst case scenario. I guess I am just looking for some support and maybe some positivity that things will get better on this med.
Thanks

I had some initial side effects such as teeth grinding and always being thirsty when I started Lexapro. The eventually went away. Lexapro does make me tired though. Hopefully your side effects will subside.
Thanks, I have noticed that I am more tired than before, but that could be because I'm not really sleeping well at the moment.
world news may create more anxiety. turning off the news and watching light comedies or light entertainment may help to settle you down. some of the older drugs might help such as
temazepam , Valium, . it is really difficult to come off these drugs and they take six weeks to work. some people feel suicidal on them. tricyclic antidepressants can be helpful. amitriptyline helps muscle tension as well as moods. eating normally with fats such as dairy in butter double cream cheddar cheese are rich in medium fatty chain fats which can protect you against the virus, if you look up your drug on uk yellowcard uk gov scheme it
gives a profile drug analysis in alphabetical index which gives ages and serious and mild side effects. drugs, com gives side effects but the uk gov website is brutally honest.
I don't watch the news. Too much going on there. I have kept up on the social media sites and some of the posters I follow on Youtube. I'm thinking it may be time to limit what I look at though with all the stress of the events. I don't really want extra medicine if I can stay off it too. I am hoping the Lexapro helps to tone down the panic I feel.
I'm just about to start Lexapro, Agora. I'm so encouraged that this has helped you so positively. Something has to give at my end, I've tried all the self help strategies and it's just not enough. Much love and thank you always for your encouraging posts.🙂💜💜
I have been on Lexapro for over 10 years and the first 7-10 days were the worst. It made my stomach so sick that I only ate plain rice and chicken and drank water. Now I have no side effects and it has helped me manage my anxiety for the most part.
hi Jeepgirl28, I am on Lexapro since last one year. As our friends told, the initial days are really tough for me. I lost my appetite completely. I used to have only a bowl of rice. I used to feel thirsty all the time and sweat a lot. As you mentioned...sleep hardly 3-4 hrs per day. It took almost 6 complete weeks to ward off the side effects. Then my dose was increased to 10 mg (from 5 mg)...I was hesitant initially to try 10mg dose due to fear of side effects.. But luckily there were no issues with the hike in the dose. But to tell you.. Lexapro really helped me to tackle my anxiety, feeling of palpitations, health anxiety and dizziness. So keep on the medicine and be brave. everything will be good for you
Do you remember having any tightness in your chest? That has come about in the last day or two.. I am starting to feel like its getting a little better, I guess I am just taking it day by day.
luckily...I never felt chest tightness.. As others told, the key is to have the medicine daily on a stipulated time.. I take my Tablet daily at 7 PM. Actually, I was prescribed to take the med in the morning with breakfast... but as I was having sleeping issues at that time, the Doc changed the time to evening and it worked for me to get good sleep continuously for at least 4 hrs.. So I stick to that time only..
