Would anyone care to share some coping skills for panic attacks & scary bodily sensations?

Hi. I'm going to PM you a link to a website that has a modern take on anxiety. What i try to do as often as possible is meditate, eat right, and exercise as often as possible. I also try to apply what i read on that website in my daily life.

Anxiety is not easy and it kicks my ass at times. Feel free to see other responses I've left others here. I try to be as helpful as possible.

Dr Claire Weekes books or on YouTube Self Help For Your Nerves are brilliant a bit dated now but the method is very very good

DARE response book by Barry McDonagh

Keep a diary

Breathing techniques

Mindfulness

Keep telling yourself it's your thoughts that cause the panic and anxiety and that your body is working just fine it's just your thoughts that fuel it all

A panic attack has a limited time it always follows the same pattern and then dies down It's just adrenaline that is flooding your body

Hope this helps

Wishing you all the very best xx

Hello! I have read Barry’s book and it helped me recover for about a year. I also have his Dare app, and am part of their support group. I love it. I relapsed in October and am not happy about having to start from the beginning!

Setbacks are part of your recovery don't be too downhearted

I have found listening to Dr Claire Weekes Self Help For Your Nerves on YouTube every day has been amazing

Sending hugs you will get there this is just a hiccup xxx

In my experience, you only need the Good Day list. You will only kick anxety's ass by doing what you would normally do if you didnt feel anxious and just take it with you.

I guess my biggest thing is the physical symptoms. They are so real and overwhelming.

I know what you mean about the physical symptoms. For me, the main one is dizziness.
