Prozac and ativan.

So I've been on klonopin for two years. I take it everyday... once a day... 0.5 mg

Well I went to a new doctor today, whom I Love! She is so sweet and relatable and she seemed to care about me. Which makes me feel good

She said that she thinks my body is used to the klonopin and she wants me to switch to ativan. She said to only take Ativan if I absolutely have to. And then she wants me to start taking Prozac at night.

I am so ready for this. I'm willing to give it a go. In the past I barely gave meds a chance, but I'm so ready for a better life so idc anymore. What ever is going to help me.

My only concern is jumping from one benzo to another without weaning. She says ill be fine. So I'm trusting her... she's the doctor.

I just have to get the worry about switching benzo out of my head

Hi Elizabeth, you like this doctor so I hope you will trust her judgment.

I will tell you that when I was being weaned off one benzo years ago, I was

given another benzo that stayed longer in my body at the same time. There

was no negative interaction between the 2 benzos because the base of the drug

is the same. Wish you well with the switch. xx

Yes I've been on the Prozac for 9 days. So far I can tell a big difference! It's def helping.

I'm not taking the ativan though

Wow any side affects? Did you ever take zoloft?

I took the Zoloft awhile back for like a couple weeks. I felt really out of it and tired all the time.

So far with the Prozac there hasn't been any side effects. I'm so much happier and laughing. I'm able to go out to stores and not get as anxious standing in line etc..

The only thing I've noticed is I wake up early in the morning and can't go back to sleep. Other than that I'm fine

Omg that’s amazing my dr gave me zoloft and Xanax and I’m scared to take both... how long did you take the zoloft

Def give it a try. I've been scared to take anything, but I'm at the point where I absolutely have to do something. So far it's working.

I was only on it for little over a week... if that. Every medicine is different for everybody, so hopefully Zoloft will be the best option for you!

I’m at the same point as you... I’m 35 I can’t even grocery shop normally anymore... I’m home I feel like crap I go out I feel like crap I get the weirdest symptoms... I never feel good! Even last night I was about to fall asleep and I felt dizzy and shaky... woke up feeling weak and lost.. it never ends I feel bad for my kids ... I. 35 and feel 80 my life is passing by

I'm alright. Stopped taking the Prozac 3 days ago after I forgot to take a dose. I was doing okay but still not quite feeling myself.. my husband says he thinks I need to go off all medication to see how I handle everything for awhile and go from there. I'm still cutting down on klonopin.

You are so blessed. I cant find a doctor that will give me the ativan i so desperately need for my panic and anxiety. They give me enough to help a few days then wont refill. I suffer needlessly.
