For the past year I’ve been getting vibrating vision, especially with certain patterns/fonts/and even the back bumpers of car depending on the car color. Hell even my keys on my laptop do this. It’s like the letters/keyboard is vibrating or like I’m looking through rippling water or a heat wave. This started early in 2018. Since then I’ve had an MRI and seen an eye specialist and my regular eye doctor two weeks ago. All clear.
I’m still terrified and am worried it’ll get so bad to the point I can’t see anymore. I also have horrid health anxiety and have had it since I was 6. I’ve also had the worst year of my life. Failed an important licensing exam, lost my dog (found her finally) and have horrid, horrid work anxiety. On top of that my mom lost her long term job of 35 years so I feel awful she’s starting over at work again. I’m also scared for my wedding because I don’t want to be blind by it. It breaks my heart because I was so excited. I hate my job, but am retaking my exam in February so hopefully I can find a new one after.
I’m scared this issue is getting worse and there’s nothing I can do about it. I feel like I’m in a nightmare. I go online and read forums with people with the same issue and they never got answers. Im scared this is some sort of visual snow that will worsen (my symptom has been reported by people with Visual Snow) OR if it’s some anxiety coming out in a weird way. I can’t tell if it’s anxiety or not I truly can’t. I feel like it’s getting worse and I’m terrified. I stopped medication a few months ago and am seeing a new therapist tomorrow, but idk how that’ll help.
I have a small prescription for Xanax but that doesn’t seem to work. I got off lexapro a few months back since it wasn’t much help. It’s hard to move on because the minute I forget about my vibrating vision, I look somewhere and see it. I’m scared. And any advice would be helpful. Anything I used to do to relax is now taken away (computer, Netflix, YouTube) because the vibrating is pretty bad with some fonts on those sites. It seems to get a bit better if I lay my head down or close either one of my eyes. Barcodes are a nightmare.
I just got new glasses for astigmatism. I’ve been getting used to them for a week. They don’t seem to help. It also gets better if I close either eye-it doesn’t matter which or move my head in a certai position. Any any insight would help.
