Prozac 10 mg ?
What side effects did u have with cymbalta , Lexapro, celexa ? I was on Prozac for2 weeks and had terrible side effects and had to stop it so now am waiting to see the psychiatrist again
Cymbalta made me nauseous and I never had an appetite my doctor didn’t want me on that because I’m having trouble gaining weight atm . Lexapro and celexa both made me feel very funny they are similar medications my whole body was tingly and sweaty and I could just not sit still . It made me extremely anxious
I take 40mg Prozac a day and it’s probably the best thing that I’ve ever been prescribed! I’ve been at this dosages for just under a year now- I was on 20mg before that. After trying various antidepressants this seems to be the only one that’s helped to control my depression and anxiety. I still have some off days and it can be a nightmare if I forget to take them but other than that I can’t complain! Best of luck to you x
I read that people my age don’t like it too much as it’s prescribed to 25+ . I’m 19 just wondering if you are around my age ?? Sorry to be so nosey 😶
I've been on Prozac for 2 long spells and it seemed weight neutral for me and was quite effective against my MDD. I took it the 1st time when I first became severely depressed for about 12 years and it worked well. Next I returned to it after a few years' break for about 5-7 years with great results again. I had trouble with libido but every drug did that. Having normal mood and mental health was so worth it. All during that time it was known as the gold standard for depression. I doubt it's effectiveness has changed since those years.
Viibryd is an SSRI that's known for letting your libido return to normal again. I tried it and think that's true for the lower doses (up to 20mg), but not the higher ones (near 40mg).
I tried lexapro and celexa and Pristique and more, but they didn't work for more than 2 years at most. My anxiety was controlled by a benzo plus my antidepressant and I am still on Cymbalta/duloxetine at present.
I think it's entirely normal for us to be anxious when changing meds and starting a new one. That anxiety should fade as soon as you've taken a few doses of the new drug without a tragedy happening. ;o) Take care.

I was scared to try it also. I had a horrible reaction to Lexapro. I was put on Prozac and only needed 5mg. It keeps my anxiety at bay and I haven't had a panic attack since starting it. The only side effect I had was getting more sweaty at night.
Prozac was great for me and anxiety and mainly my ocd. I was on 30 at max and 10 at lowest. It just makes me tired all the time but it did help after being on it for weeks. But i was alway sleepy
