Symptoms without being anxious
Yes, I do but I believe it's because my body is in a constant state of stress even though I may not feel anxious at the time there is an underlying thread of stress running through me all the time. It's not always obvious but it is there.
I never fully relax or feel at ease so that's why I get symptoms even when I think I feel fine.
It is very frustrating.
Yep! That's one of the most frustrating things about anxiety. You can feel fine and be doing anything and all of the sudden, it's there out of the blue. I've been dealing with it myself again the last few days. Some of my symptoms have flared the last couple days for seemingly no reason after a great weekend. SVR is totally right. We are so sentitized and tense although we may not realized it so our body still gets triggered to the stress response.
The weird thing about anxiety is that one can suffer from it, and not even be aware of it. This happened to me, because of trauma experienced at age 6, I began to have anxiety. I grew up with it. It became something I was familiar with. People called me intense. It would become elevated when something would happen in my life to trigger it. Like a loved one being late, would start the most unimaginable panic attacks. Heart beat up, pacing back and forth, wringing of hands. I learned to start cleaning house at these times, whether needed or not. I had no idea what was going on with me. No body talked of such things; there was no internet. Often, my panic attacks would be directed as anger toward the person whom I perceived was behind the attack. This, of course, caused untold trouble with loved ones. In truth, it tended to drive them away.
Are the physical symptoms, that you mention, those of upset stomach, and other digestive issues? Years of unrelenting anxiety can actually lead to real heath problems.
