Last few months I had terrible headaches, been for a head mri and that came back clear so I've no explanation for them other than stress. This month the new problem is terrible back ache. Heat pads make it worse and everytime I love something cracks or crunches. Listening to people at work talk about people with backache dying three weeks later with cancer, pancreatic cancer. So my brain has taken this idea and made everything worse. I've had styes in my eye, breakouts, ulcers and now my back. Has anybody else experienced this? I'm trying to hold off going to the doctors to see if it does down. I'm definitely getting worse and I'm certainly convinced something is wrong. What must it be like to live and not feel pain in everything you do. I need medication, a therapist and a whole body mri to calm me down I'm loosing my mind. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yes!! This is me to a T. I had a normal MRI of the brain seven years ago, but every time I have another bout of dizziness or foggy feelings I’m convinced they missed something. I also pay waaaay too much attention to my body sensations and can go from normal to cancer in less than 30 seconds. My mind can absolutely convince me that the things I’ve heard about other people will probably happen to me!! You are not alone!! Someone told me this and it makes sense: “Of the few amount of people you see or hear about being really sick, think about the millions of others walking around who aren’t”. I’m trying to think about that more because I’m afraid I’m making myself sick (sicker) with these negative thoughts!! My heart goes out to you and I hope you find relief as well!!

Hi Abbiek99, it sounds like Health Anxiety is taking you for a ride down some bumpy roads of life. Since we are not doctors, the first suggestion is having your backache accessed for any health issues. Not doing anything keeps you stuck in this vicious cycle of fear. I don't know many people who live and not feel pain. We're human. Even machines break down at times and need an overhauling or replaced parts. The things you mentioned such as stys, breakouts, ulcers and now your back can very well come from an over stressed body including an over sensitized nervous system. These are not life threatening health issues.

I understand how overwhelmed you feel right now. Taking one step at a time and addressing your worries, as you check off each fear, will reduce your anxiety and stress.

We cannot control what we may be diagnosed with down the road. Just because someone else might have had the same symptoms doesn't mean ours is going in the same direction. Life is too precious to waste on worrying about the "what ifs". We're here to support you through our own life experiences. You're not alone Abbie. :) xx

Thankyou my family and friends aren't the best people to talk about it to as they don't understand and just laugh. It's lovely to here that you aren't alone in it every once in a while xx

We're never alone Abbie. It takes a forum like this in allowing you to see that there are others all around us that understand our suffering. It takes someone who is going through this to fully support you and take you seriously. Family and friends may love you but are at a loss as to what to say or do and so they "laugh".

You're here now Abbie. It's going to be okay. One step at a time. xx

You are certainly not alone in your thoughts or thinking the worst. I hear of someone else's illness or sickness and I began to feel and think I will or have the same things. The constant cycles. I wish us the best through this.
