I ended up freaking out, having a MAJOR panic attack and taking myself to the hospital and got an EKG my hearts fine, my blood got drawn and got an Iv and got some meds to chill.

I think you knew your ECG and bloods were going to be fine. I suspect you knew it wasn't a heart attack. At least you got some chill tablets which can be helpful if an attack seems overwhelming. They bring respite but they do not bring recovery.

Recovery comes from having an anxiety attack and accepting it for the time being. Do that and you begin to lose your fear of panic attacks and your attacks become less and less. Accepting a panic attack with as little fear as you can isn't easy. But we all have the courage to do it. So don't live in fear of another attack, treat it as an opportunity to practice acceptance (for the time being) which is the way to recover.

Jeff1943 is right. I was having up to three attacks daily. I followed his advice and am now a week panic attack free!

Jodi_S, I hope you never have another panic attack for as long as you live, but if you do you know what to do, know what not to do. Claire Weekes who developed the acceptance method considered you recovered even if you had a reoccurance because having dealt with it successfully once you had the experience to do so again. Have a good life!
