I woke up feeling really lightheaded whenever I move my neck or try to get up.
I've never had this before, and it won't go away.
I'm really scared.

hi Lucyjane, ive experienced this recently and its the most frightening experience ,its part of the anxiety and I still have lightheadedness, its recognising it and not fighting it can help ,lying still and trying to take deep breathes too …..as it is a scary thing rexation your shoulders ,and try rotating your head ;its excercising the neck ,shoulders and head and feeling in control again, hope that helps.take care.
Hi.
I just tried to rotate my head, and then had a sudden lightheaded feeling that felt like I was dropping and it made me physically jump, it keeps happening when I move.
I meant to try and loosen the tension by head exercise when you are less stressed and relaxed,if it happens again don't panic ,are there any other feelings apart from lightheadedness, main thing is to try and relax, and breath rhythmically if you know what I mean.
you might feel a lot better if you can get to an A&E or an ER for a test or two.
what do you think?
I did go along, they said it was labyrinthitis, but only looked in my ears and did my blood pressure.
I find it hard to beleive that's what's wrong, when it was the diagnosis they threw at me when I felt like this a year ago.
OK Trust your instincts. Do you have the option of making an appointment with an ENT specialist?
I've already seen an ENT last year for the same sort of problems and couldn't find anything wrong. I do have a check-up with an ENT this month so maybe I will mention it. But they couldn't find anything wrong last time.
Lucy, last years tests were for last year. Now you have symptoms that really get your attention. Be your best advocate. If you have something that is bothering you, trust yourself to get to the bottom of it. Anxiety is not always at the root of everything.
If it continues, call your doctor to discuss the problem.
Have you been checked for vertigo? Or have u fallen or bumped your head in the last cpl weeks
The gp didn't seem to think I had vertigo, and I haven't fallen or bumped my head.
Ask them to check the muscles in your neck, strained neck muscles can cause what you are experiencing.. might be worth a try.
I've got a check up with an ENT on thursday, should I mention it to them?
Yes, mention it and see what they say.
I had issues with my neck muscles and had some of the symptoms you are talking about. It might not be that but wouldn't do any harm to mention it.
LucyJane, here is a sentence for you to use at the doctor's office on Thursday.
" Doctor, would it be possible for you to cast a wide net to help me get to the bottom of this?"
Check back in with us on Friday.
