Keep busy, distract yourself, get your mind to stop thinking negative thoughts, do anything, a new thing, old thing, learn, just don't let all the anxiety take over.
I do this but still have panic attacks and am anxious all day. As I type this, irrational ideas surface
Check foods that can help and exercise, set goals and achieve them.
I’m very healthy physically
It's nothing to do with your physical health it's your mental health, exercise helps big time with it. Exercise releases endorphins into your brain that make you feel good, it's the opposite of what anxiety does.
get to the bottom of the thoughts and beliefs that create it. Challenge what you think and why you believe these thoughts.
Physically write them out on paper.
In the mean time Jimmyjimmy has a point. Get away from the computer and get your feet moving, even up and down the block if you have to.
Hi Julester49 all these feeling you are having is because you are letting them. You are homing in on all your feelings which in turn are making them multiply. You need to learn some grounding techniques. Firstly as Jimmyjimmy has said distraction is key for us anxiety sufferers. It’s not possible to think of so many different things at one time. Ok so here are some things I find very useful.
Box breathing - inhale for 5 seconds, hold for 5 seconds, exhale for 5 seconds & hold for a further 5 seconds. Repeat this until you feel your anxiety subsiding.
Next - grounding techniques. Name me 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell & 1 thing you can taste. This will again distract your mind. Go for a walk & release some of the negative energy.
I’m sending you peace & positive vibes xx
Do these help everyone because they never helped me. And I can’t walk in 120 weather. I used to go to the gym daily but my panic attacks cause me to sleep
Sorry to hear they never worked for you. They have worked for me in the past. Panic attacks do different things to different people. You say they cause you to sleep, I however find it very hard to sleep after an attack. Everybody is different. This may sound silly but when I was really anxious I used to do colouring. I brought myself a colouring book for adults & found it very therapeutic. Hope you find your peace very soon xx
