I’m scared to close my eyes when I’m about to fall asleep.

When I’m going to sleep at night, I’m afraid to close my eyes because I feel as though someone is watching me. It takes me around an hour before I’m able to actually close my eyes most nights, and I really just want to know why this is happening. Whenever I know that someone else is awake its not as bad but when everyone is asleep I start panicking.

I do not have diagnosed anxiety so I am unsure if this is a form of anxiety or if I’m just really paranoid, but again I would really like to know why this is happening or if its just me being overly paranoid.
