Hi Welshwoman53 and Welcome. You have found a safe and comforting place to come to in talking about your anxiety issues. We are a group of men and women of all ages from all over the world who have struggled with anxiety as well. We are nonjudgmental as well as understanding and caring.

I think you will be pleasantly surprise at the support you will receive. Looking forward to hearing more in how we can help you. Whenever you are ready, we will be only a message away. :) xx

Thank you 'SO' much Agora. You really don't know how much that means :). At the moment, just trying to get the feel of this Site.

Of course, take your time.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I have had anxiety issues for many years, even in becoming Agoraphobic for 5 years. (Hence the name) :)

I only wish I had a forum like this when I was going through my struggle. It took me longer but with medication (at that time) therapy and confidence in myself that I would one day win over anxiety, I did it.

With this forum, we share our journey with anxiety/depression and by doing this we learn from each other. What works for one may not work for the other, but it still is a learning process. We take away what may help us. The support here is amazing. It makes you feel so not alone which is a typical feeling with anxiety. Unless you've suffered with anxiety, you can't possibly understand. And that's what brings most of the members here. Finally, at last, there are people who like ourselves truly get it.

We will be here when you're ready. No rush. Take the time to read the posts and responses from everyone. You have just taken the first step forward in finding relief. xx

Thank you very much Jimmy. I feel nervous at the moment just talking about it. I usually try and keep things to myself but really hoping I can overcome that here :)

No reason to keep things to yourself here, Welshwoman53. We are all anonymous and always will be, we can tell of our fears and joys without worrying.

We discuss ways and means to rid ourselves of anxiety, and the depression that often accompanies it. Recovery is the aim of all.

When you are ready tell us what anxiety disorder means to you: the symptoms, the bad feelings, the strange thoughts, then you will be most welcome to do so.

Very comforting to know. I have had a very traumatic time lately and I think it's just 'ALL' catching up with me!! For now, I'm going to say Goodnight, before I get addicted to this Site lol. Goodnight Jeff.

I suffer with anxiety have to take strong sleeping tablets and a lot of booze to sleep,

Which is wrong, I have tried all the breathing exercises ect ect,

The only way out of of this endless loop of hell,

Is to take two weeks off work stop immediately

Drinking and drugs , the first three days are pure agony,

Walking the streets, no sleep, sudokus,

Lots of deep breathing,

Lots of mediation listening to calming apps,

And walking apps,

Sitting in parks as the sun comes up,

No sleeping in day time,

On the forth day it gets better I went to sleep at11 slept through to 3am,

5th day bed at 11 woke up at 5am,

Fully refreshed no anxiety,

6th day I went jogging,

On my 7th day now , no booze, no tabs,

Feeling unbelievably fresh best I have ever been

Doing lots of weights in gym,

Eating a good diet , and really happy,

Swimming is good as well

I've learned a way out and it's called mindfulness therapy. It's cheap therapy that you can do yourself. There is a lot of free support and guidance online. Google this search term "mindfulness for anxiety" or "mindfulness for depression" Here are 2 links to start you out then you can go from there. Practice everyday. Good luck ✌️😎

2. mindful.org/10-mindful-atti...

Thanks for your Replies everyone. Really appreciated :)

Welcome! I AM new here as well and have already found it to be very helpful, supportive and most definitely non-judgemental. We just share our feelings and support each other through the journey of dealing with anxiety. I hope you find it helpful too.
