Had enough now.

I had a stressful day yesterday which caused me to have a panic attack. I managed to calm down after half an hour of having one.

I went to sleep an hour an half later then woke up now which is 1 am.

My heart is racing, my thoughts just won’t shut off so I can go back to sleep.

Why is this happening is my body building up for another attack?

You body is not gearing up. Your mind is.

Sometimes this happens. Take out a pen and a notebook and write everything down you are thinking about. Everything.

Your mind can rest at that point.

You have something that is really bothering you, get it off your chest.

Your body goes into the flight or fight response and it can take a tole on your body because it’s such a build up. It takes me a bit to come down from a panic attack...your body does so much in the flight or fight response...you start to breath more, heart races / it’s exhausting! Try deep long breaths, belly breathing, making sure your filling up your belly not your chest. I’ve benefited from guided anxiety meditation, being aware of your breathing to help come down.
