Any one feeling heart pain from long time with anxiety
Hi srehman, Nothing is physically wrong with you according to your doctors. Something is worrying you (health anxiety) that is causing you to feel the pain in your chest. If your heart is 100% fine, then I would say it is coming from your chest wall muscles. When we are anxious we hold ourselves very tight and rigid causing the muscles and ligaments in our chest to squeeze and spasm. That is probably what you are sensing every day. The pain can also be felt through the upper back. I use heat to help relax those muscles. Not just a hot shower or bath which is for a limited time but using a heating pad and relaxing while enjoying the warmth. I sometimes take a bath towel and throw it in the dryer for 15 minutes and then place it around my shoulders and chest, find a comfortable chair, a warm drink and just settle back and breathe deeply and enjoy tv, a movie or a good book.
Doing that as often as you feel necessary, will help relieve the pain and spasms. As for the dizzyheaded headache and off balance shakiness, that can be due to your fears that something is wrong, making you extra anxious and sick feeling. When we are scared, we mouth breathe, making the tongue and back of throat extremely dry and causing breath problems. I would think your doctor checked you out for Diabetes when he did the other tests.
Dealing with your long time pain and unable to work sounds like you have no interaction with other people. Are you in therapy right now? Finding the cause of your pain both emotional and physical can help the doctors in addressing this issue. I wish for you peace and calm. May your pain dissolve along with your fears. My best to you my friend.
hi ive been suffering bad anxiety/depression but a lot more this week.on Wednesday night my chest became really sore like I had been crushed.i thought it was just part of me being unwell as I was feeling sick and had the runs.ive also had the shaky feeling and I get dizzy like I'm on drugs.just read agora1 reply and hope its just the anxiety.that lady knows her stuff.hope you get to the bottom of your problems soon.
kenster1, just so you know that I'm going by my own experiences over the years as well as a lot of research and studying I did once I was convinced and accepted that it was all anxiety caused. Always make sure you see your doctor for any new symptoms or ones that go on for a while. We want to keep us all safe x
Yes, I agree to with what you are saying. I know from my own experience and my studies of the body muscles for massage therapy courses that I have taken that stress and anxiety can cause or muscles to be permanently tighten. It is like out muscles are permanently in a state where they are prepared for the fight or flight response and the pains are because the muscles could be cramping or just not getting enough time to relax. I use a hot water bottle to ease my tight chest and back muscles while relaxing because I have found nothing beats a hit water bottle in how long it stays warm, even the heat blankets you get that you can wrap round you aren't as good as a hot water bottle in that situation.
Also I stretch regularly and do relaxation exercises. I too had the frustrations of being told by my Dr that all tests were fine and I found I just got anxious because I thought they would think I was making it up.
When I decided to accept that I was stressed and anxious things g it better for me as I started working on feeling better and healthier and being an improved me and stopped worrying about the initial cause , as sometimes it is the pile up of stresses over years that causes it.
Hope some of what I have done helps.
i had the chest pains again yesterday it was really sore but after a day or so its gone.
Hi kenster1, had you ever been told you have Costochondritis? I have that myself which may come and go. It's an irritation of the nerves between the chest wall ribs. It will hurt if you press between the each rib. It has nothing to do with your heart. I find that applying heat can help relieve the pain. It's due to stress and overusing our muscles. Hope that helps some in alleviating your fears. xx
